Pedalpalooza

Join us for a fun-filled day of biking, learning, and safety at Pedalpalooza, a free community event for families of all ages! The event takes place Saturday, June 7 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Bicycle Safety Town (6518 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria, IL 61614).
- The first 400 kids will receive a FREE bike helmet (while supplies last), so come early!
- Children MUST be present to receive a helmet
- Explore the Safety Town bike course
- Learn basic bike maintenance tips
- Pick up safety info from local vendors and community partners
- Enjoy activities, giveaways, and more!
Whether your child is a seasoned rider or just getting started, Pedalpalooza is the perfect place to learn, ride, and play all while putting safety first.
Admission is free and no registration is required. Bring your bikes, bring your helmets (or get one here!), and roll on over for a great day at the park!

Russell’s Cycling and Fitness
Russell’s Cycling & Fitness Center has been a cornerstone of the local cycling community since its founding in 1977 by Joe Russell. What began as a garage-based repair shop has grown into a full-service bike and fitness retailer, as well as home fitness equipment such as treadmills and ellipticals. Russell’s also provides expert repairs and personalized fittings. Beyond retail, the shop is deeply involved in community outreach, donating over 1,000 refurbished bikes to the Children’s Home Association of Illinois since 2005, supporting both children and adults in need of transportation.

The Peoria Public Library, established in 1880, has since expanded to five branches across the city. Beyond its collections, the library engages the community with events like the annual Summer Reading program, which includes activities and giveaways for participants .
Peoria Elite
Peoria Elite Gymnastics Academy is Central Illinois’ largest gymnastics facility, encompassing 18,000 square feet of air-conditioned and heated space. The academy offers a range of programs for children of all ages and skill levels. PEGA emphasizes building self-confidence and positive self-image through structured gymnastics progressions and a supportive, family-friendly environment.
Wildlife Prairie Park
Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City, IL, is a 1,800-acre nature park dedicated to native Midwest wildlife. Home to animals like bison, black bears, and cougars, the park offers scenic walking trails, fishing, biking, and family-friendly activities. Founded in 1978, it blends conservation, education, and outdoor fun just minutes from Peoria.
Peoria Chiefs
The Peoria Chiefs are a Minor League Baseball team competing at the High-A level in the Midwest League. As the St. Louis Cardinals’ affiliate since 2013, the Chiefs play their home games at Dozer Park.
